Are you looking for accommodation or somewhere to stay when visiting Chirk Castle? Our self catering holiday cottage is a short drive away in Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog and can sleep up to four people in two rooms. We are approximately a 25 minute drive from Chirk Castle through the beautiful Ceiriog Valley.
Chirk Castle was built around 1300 and sits on an outcrop dominating the land around. As well as the castle itself, there are approximately 6 acres of stunning grounds to explore. The castle is owned by the National Trust and has a lovely cafe and a nice kids outdoor play area. There are also some beautiful walks in the grounds.
The area is rich in history and just a short walk from the castle is the site of the Battle of Crogen and the Gate of the Dead. A visit to Chirk Castle is easily combined with a visit to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, Chirk Aqueduct or the popular town of Llangollen.
So if you are looking for somewhere to stay while visiting Chirk Castle, check out our accommodation and facilities on our website. You can also check availability online. You can find out more information on Chirk Castle here.
If you want to combine it with visiting another National Trust property then we would recommend a visit to Powis Castle just outside of Welshpool. The gardens are absolutely stunning. Alternatively the National Trust property at Erddig is a short drive away. We have a soft spot for Chirk Castle as we have such good memories of our children when much younger running around the gardens and playing hide and seek. There are a few food choices in Chirk itself and Chirk Castle does also have a nice cafe.
