about the Ceiriog Valley

The Ceiriog Valley is one of North Wales hidden gems. That is said about a lot about places, but this time it is true. The valley runs along the River Ceiriog and is the gateway to the Berwyn Range. It is a beautiful place to explore. You will find rivers, raging waterfalls, forests and lots of wildlife. There are miles of glorious walks to explore and excellent on road cycling and mountain bike routes.

The valley was described by the British Prime Minister Lloyd George as “a little piece of heaven on earth” and we could not agree more.

The valley has a few small villages scattered along the way. Glyn Ceiriog is the largest with a pub and shop. Pontfadog has a small shop / post office and a pub. Finally at the end of the valley you have the small village of Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog which is a beautiful place to visit and where our cottage is based. Llanarmon has two historic inns which both serve splendid food and drink.

You can learn a little more about this beautiful valley here and about our beautiful Ceiriog Valley holiday cottage.
