We are blessed with having some amazing walks and mountain biking straight from the door of our holiday cottage in Llanarmon DC. We leave guide books and maps for our guests to use, however we often get asked about walking and riding the Ceiriog trail.
While you can follow it using the OS maps at the cottage, I came across some well written walks that are easy to follow. They cover the Upper Ceiriog trail and the Ceiriog trail and you can download them by clicking the links below. I think they were originally produced by Wrexham Borough Council (so not my own work).
The valley is really picturesque and the scenery quite stunning. It never gets that busy so you often have the trails to yourself. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled as we have a lot of wildlife in the Ceiriog Valley and around Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog including Kites, Buzzards and Polecats.
There are a number of nice pubs to stop at along the way. Options include the Glyn Valley Hotel in Glyn Ceiriog and in Llanarmon DC the Hand Hotel and the West Arms Hotel. Sitting outside the Hand with a good pint after a nice walk or ride is pure heaven.
