Frequently asked questions about booking Glan y Wern
Do you have a cot for small children
The cottage sleeps 4 in a king size bed and two single beds. We are happy if you wish to accommodate a child under 24 months of age in a cot. We have one cot available for use and one highchair. Please contact us to check these are available.
What facilities are provided
We think we have thought of everything. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pans and crockery, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. There are games to play, books to read and a games console. The lounge has a TV with Freesat and a DVD player. Consumables get used up and we try to keep on top of replacing them so there may be things like washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets – but we can’t guarantee this. So we suggest you bring things like this along with you in case things run out. There are normally also some basic store cupboard items (salt, pepper, spices etc). You will also find a selection of vinyl records to play on the turntable – some may be to your taste!
Standard of the cottage
The cottage is also our holiday home – so we have furnished it to a high standard. However, the cottage is over 160 years old and we wanted to keep the character when we renovated it. So expect to find wonky walls, the odd uneven floor, low door frames and all the good stuff that makes old cottages interesting.
Rural location
Please be aware that the cottage is in a rural location and backs onto open fields. So you may find the odd spider, fly, bug and even field mouse sharing your holiday home with you. If you do, just open the door and they will run or fly away. If this is a problem, don’t book a holiday cottage in rural Wales!
Wi Fi
Yes we have Wi-Fi and it is normally very reliable and fast. However we make no warranties regarding speed and availability!
Allergies
We can’t guarantee that pets have never been brought into the property, nuts eaten etc. We also have feathers etc in the bedding. Please consider this if it will cause you a problem.
Mobile phone coverage
There is no mobile phone signal in the village – the nearest phone signal is approximately a 5 minute drive away. There is a land line for emergency use.
Who can stay at the house
Only the people you list on the booking form. You can have people round to visit, but they can’t stay over.
